I'd laugh. She wouldn't be able to comprehend some of the logic. Here's an idea of one of my story.
The main character (Tara Oaks..."Gone With the Wind" reference) moves to Columbus, Ohio with her dad (I have been there MANY times, I know what I'm doing with that). There are several reasons: 1. His family lives there 2. Both of them are having major emotional problems A. Tara's mother/ Dad's first wife died from heart problems B. Dad divorced three times C. Needing to 'start a new life Anyway, they get there in the middle of winter and Tara starts school there. Well, she's really too upset about her life thus far, but enjoys having people welcome her...and then the Librarian (or Principle) starts to remind her of her mom and gets a little emotional about it. Then two boys catch her eye.
Boy One: Zeke Fir He is a: 1. Jock 2. Hot boy 3. Hot 4. Cute 5. Edwardian 6. But real person 7. Jerk, creep, S.o.B, freak 8. Bad boy. A. He's gotten three girls pregnant and forced them all to have abortions B. Hurt two others emotionally...pretty badly C. Threatened to kill them if they snitched on him His family 1. Creepy 2. Hunts for sport/fun 3. MAJORLY stereotypical on the south US, other parts of the world, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, etc... 4. The men are playboy ADDICTS 5. HIGHLY homophobic, bi-phobic, etc...
Tara fell in lust with him.
Other boy: Phillip Beech 1. Nerd 2. Brainiac 3. ADORABLE 4. Sweet-as-pie 5. Gentle as lamb 6. One big giant SWEET HEART 7. Has a mini-me little sister named Phoebe
His family is 1. Animal lovers (his mom works for a rescue society and raises baby animals until they are old enough to be in the wild or be in a sanctuary) 2. Don't hunt, but only accept it for conservation reasons (like if a deer population is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY out of control...which happens) 3. HIGHLY feminist 4. AWESOME philosophy 5. Non-stereotype 6. Have a gay couple as next-door neighbors that they love to death
Tara's dad meets the Principle/Librarian and falls in love with her (which Tara is a bit uncomfortable with, thinking that she would get negative treatment for that).
So, she starts crushing on Zeke and all his heart-broken ex-girlfriends are trying to convince her to STAY AWAY. But she ignores them...'cuz he's HOT! Well, she ends up having Phillip as a study partner in one of his classes. After a while, she starts to like him. Eventually, she's more comfortable with Philly than with Zeke.
The gay couple (Who are called Steward and Arthur) become her "love councilors". One of the most important things they say is "There are more ways to make love than sex." It turns out that they've never had "sex". They found other ways to "make love" that is completely different from sex. Eventually, Tara uses that against Zeke when he tries to get her to have sex with him...and runs off to sweet 'ol Phillip.
I plan on having Zeke go to Juvie at the end and Tara having a happy ending with Phillip and even her dad marrying the Principle/Librarian.
The thing about that story is that it would put a whole new idea on love. Stewart and Arthur will make this very clear. Here's an idea of a conversation:'
"You're...gay?" "Is there anything wrong with that?" Tara blinked. "I thought it was illegal for gays to marry." Artie grinned. "But it's not illegal for them to live together." He said. "People make a big deal about love these days." Stewart said. "Everyone seems to think that only a man can love a woman and only a woman can love a man. Well, can't a man love his son? Can't a woman love her daughter? There's much more to love than romance and there's more ways to make love than sex." Arthur said. Tara cocked her head. "What do you mean?"
Stewart put his hand on Tara's shoulder. "Let me put it this way. Do you love your father?" That was one of the easiest questions in the world. "Of course I love my father!" She said. "How do you build that love?" Stewart asked. "Well, we talk about things." "What kind of things?" "Well, what happened during the day, about dad's childhood, about our ancestors..." Tara sighed heavily. "About mom." Her voice cracked a bit. "Do you have a better relationship with your Old Man after that?" Artie asked. Tara nodded. "Yeah."
"See? That's an example of making love without making love. Stewart and I never made love and yet everyone seems to think we have." Artie said. "Romantic love is not the only love there is. The list goes on. However, there is some love that is false love--like pedophilia. I can understand the outlaw for that. Children have VERY poor ideas of love and are not even built for making love." Stewart nodded at what his partner said. "Then there's lust. I understand you know what that is?" Tara nodded. "Now, your two suitors: Zeke and Phillip. How do you compare them?" "Well, Zeke is just...well, he looks so GOOD and his hot (Stewart and Arthur cringed at her description.), but he's...not the nicest guy. But Philly is so sweet. He isn't quite as good looking." "So, which grape do you want? Smooth and sour, or wrinkled and sweet?"
Take THAT, Smeyer!

I'd be happy and laugh. Something terrible by her standards is probably very good. Oh, yeah, I also have werewolves, which she'll probably view as a rip-off.

I have a character that is dependant, needy, weak and spoiled. NOW, MY CHARACTER HAS A REASON WHY SHE'S LIKE THAT. [/capsrape] I put a part of myself to my character. She has my flaws. The reason why she's like that is because she got used to getting whatever she wants. She was overprotected and sheltered. At least my character develops throughout the story(my story). She learns how to be independent. She's gonna bash my character and think her Bella is stronger. She's also gonna think her EDWARD is the BEST, IDEAL MAN EVUR. XD
I realized arguing with Meyer is like arguing with your child.

It involves folklore and magic on a rather grand scale.

It's a given that she would hate my books. They contain homosexual relationships, logic, love between people who AREN'T pretty, women who don't give a fig about babies and who stand up for themselves, relationships that are based on emotions - not lust, numerous things that would set off a devoutly religious person who can't take a joke, (and we all know SMeyer can't take a joke), and tons of research.
If she insulted/bashed them? I'd be thrilled. I'd put up huge banners everywhere celebrating: STEPHENIE MEYER HATES MY BOOK. I'd inform every media source possible. What better publicity could you get? An author who is either loved or hated bashing my stories? People on both sides would be curious what my books were about and bound to look them up. I wouldn't even need to spend money on advertisements! And I'd be guaranteed to have awesome, intelligent fans!

1) I'd feel like a rock star, seeing as she is quite obviously only aware of famous books 2) By her standards, her own books are brilliant, so being bashed by her would be an enormous compliment 3) PARTY TIME!
I doubt her comment would be at all useful as the only romance happens between two very minor characters, and doubtless they'd be the centre of her review. Which wouldn't be terrible, if she weren't guaranteed to totally miss the damn story, and write it off as bad because it's not all about weddings and babies.

I shall use my most 'adult' series Chronicles of the Kibon Portal. There are 4 'Chronicles' (Secret God | Opening Heaven's Gate | Love, Angels, Heaven and Hell | Mirror of 1000 worlds) and she'd bash it for a lot of reasons. Mainly:
*The idea of one self being god or god not existing at all (as established by mayor religions) In CKP, the whole idea of it goes around the fact that because you can create stories/characters/things, you are god of that world. Therefore, anybody can be god (makes you wonder who the hell made this world...). As a Mormon, Meyer will completely try to turn this down, as like 95% of the Christian people perhaps < _<
*The idea of Suicide/Murder/Death as a good thing This is hard to explain really, but it's pointed out at the end the negatives of this 'method' of jumping along the dimensions.
*Cussing Lots of it in here, specially from a Canadian dude.
*Violence and Gore Ho shit, in the '2nd' part, too much graphic gushing and bashing. They rip the eyes of one guy off! I mean, crap... I'm a psycho 9 _9() The poor Melanie wouldn't resist it...
*"Your savior was a prick that only managed to kill himself..." There's a lot of dissing of the 'base' religions on earth and how they help 'blind' people about the reality around them and the many dimensions. Could irk people with closed minds... which makes Meyer fall in that cathegory
*Sad Endings! Yes, Out of 4 'seasons', 3 end in a bad way, being 'Secret God' the book that ends with a f*ckfest and blows you away. I believe Meyer's not a person who likes sad to disastrous endings so she'll put me out at how badly I see humanity. Well, considering her mindless fans... I'd loose faith in humanity too...
I could put more reasons but I shall go describing the Chars a bit.
=+=+=+=+= CKP- Secret God Main chars (as seen by Meyer)
'Wiz' - Is a tall thin guy that's pretty much your image of a nerd. Since he knows science, I'll will diss him but.. oh wait, he looks actually nice. Perhaps not unless... oh wait, he talks too much... and intelligently, unlike Bella who points out how people are mean to her (CKP - SG is a 1st person related by Wiz). And doesn't get the girl... not to mention actually kills her? WTS? Also, ew... he's from Mexico....
Miyamoto - He's a gorgeous smexy bish that has long silver hair (like sephiroth! OMGAWD!) and purple eyes. The epimothe of smex but... wait? He's 8? Oh well, no biggie (he looks way too old and hot anyways). He is strong, fast, has psychic powers and... he's atheist? .. .what? He disses our lord jesush? How dare he! But, he's too hawt... I can't decide... but he talks too much too... why are people in this series so deep?
Zazabi - The only girl in the series, she's pretty and pale (wohoo! kudos for the brown hair!) and controls the shadows. Not bad, like vampires right? But she likes somebody that is already dead ((seen later on the 'book')) but won't fall in love with drop dead gorgeous Miya, even if he is 10 years younger.... and actually treats him like a child sometimes. But, she ends up being a demon?! Pretty brunette girls cannot be demons!
Singer - Ah, at least this guy is from the states, he's a pretty blond boy which has... ew! Why does everyone in this series have glasses? He has this cool sword and all but he's too cheery.. he creeps me out. Meh, I'm going to leave this book now, there's too much blood, battles, philosophic talk and less of what's important: Twu wuv! And why does everyone die in this book except for the mexican geek?!
=+=+=+= In other words, she'd find flaws to everything T _T() Anybody interested on this story?
